The UNI Child Development Center employs students from the University of Northern Iowa. Many of these students are taking classes in early childhood education or related fields. Student staff employees are an integral part of the teaching team at the UNI CDC.
Student staff employees are expected to be actively involved in the care and supervision of children. The student staff are required to complete CPR and First Aid training, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) training, Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse training, and a physical. Student staff are also required to complete a background check along with fingerprinting.
It is also important to read through our employee handbook. This will give you valuable information as you begin work in a classroom, but also serves as a nice refresher on your expectations if you have been working here already.
An application for employment may be found here. All other paperwork required by the UNI CDC must be completed before employment begins.
